Abstract

In this study we are willing to report a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of 3-(pyridine-2-yl)/phenyl-2H-chromene-2-one derivatives under solvent free conditions catalyzed by 1-butyl, 3-methyl imidazolium chloride ([Bmim]Cl) ionic liquid. The newly synthesized compounds were tested for their antimicrobial & antioxidant activities. The structures of all novel compounds reported herein are established using FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass spectroscopy techniques
