A Simple and Effective Synthesis of Quinazolinone Derivatives Using Coated Chitosan on Fe3O4 Nanoparticles under Reflux

Abstract

Using 10 mg chitosan coated on Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles as a heterogeneous reusable catalyst, a fully green, expedient technique for the quantitate synthesis of pharmaceutical active quinazolinone derivatives was devised. This simple method is exclusively appealing from a green chemistry standpoint because to its good yields, cheap cost, reusable nano magnetic catalysis systems, excellent catalytic activity, recoverability of the catalyst, simple work plan, and heterogeneous carbon-based nano catalyst.
