Magnetic copper ferrite nanoparticles catalyzed synthesis of benzimidazole, benzoxazole and benzothiazole derivatives

Abstract

Magnetic copper ferrite nanoparticles was successfully fabricated and its activity as a magnetically recoverable catalyst was evaluated in the synthesis of benzimidazole, benzoxazole and benzothiazole derivatives. Catalysis research under green mediums makes also this synthetic protocol ideal and fascinating from the environmental point of view. As-fabricated copper catalyst was well confirmed by a series of characterization techniques such as FT-IR and SEM analysis. Magnetic copper ferrite catalyst can be magnetically recovered after the reaction and can be reused for many times without appreciable decrease in activity.
