Abstract

Research on the catalytic activity of magnetic nanoparticles is a hot research topic in modern synthetic chemistry. Magnetic separation is an efficient strategy for the rapid separation of catalysts from reaction medium and an alternative to time-, solvent-, and energy-consuming separation techniques. In recent times, the immobilization of ionic liquids on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles have presented as nice and efficient catalytic strategy for the performance of chemical reactions. This review is focused on ionic liquids immobilized on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles and their applications as magnetically recoverable nanocatalysts in the performance of chemical reactions.
